Turkish Embassy Launches Photo Contest on Instagram

The Turkish Embassy in Washington is inviting travelers to join its “Picture Turkey” contest on the photo-sharing site Instagram.

The contest, which will run from July 24 to August 31, 2012, is an opportunity for visitors and residents to show all the many aspects of Turkish culture and society they experienced while in the country.

The theme for the Embassy’s Instagram contest will be the “People of Turkey”. Whether they are visiting Istanbul and shopping at the Grand Bazaar; visiting Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean; hiking in the natural trails of Cappadocia or strolling through the streets of Antalya, visitors can submit photos that best capture the faces and lives of the “People of Turkey”.

All citizens of Turkey and the U.S. are eligible to participate in the “Picture Turkey” contest. Entering is easy:

·         Follow @turkishembassydc on Instagram

·         Upload your photos of the “People of Turkey” with the hashtag #PictureTurkey

The Embassy will announce the winner on its official Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages in September. The winning photo will be enlarged and displayed at the Turkish Embassy for a month, after which it will be sent to the winner.

Please see the attached document to get the official rules, terms and conditions to enter the contest.
