Press Release Regarding The Official Visit Of Minister Of Foreign Affairs And European Integration Of Croatia, H.e. Mr. Gordan Jandrokovic To Turkey And Turkey-bosnia-herzegovina-croatia Trilateral Consultation Meeting , 27.04.2010

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Croatia, H.E. Mr. Gordan Jandrokovic will be paying an official visit to Turkey on 27-29 April 2010 upon the invitation of the Turkish Minister of Foreign Afffairs H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu.

During the visit H.E. Mr. Jandrokovic will be received by the President H.E. Mr. Abdullah Gül.

On the occasion of the visit, all aspects of our bilateral relations, which fare positively in all areas, will be reviewed with our NATO ally Croatia, and views will be exchanged on regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially the Balkans and the EU accession negotiations.

Besides the bilateral program on 28 April, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey H.E. Mr. Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Croatia H.E. Mr. Gordan Jandrokovic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia-Herzegovina H.E. Mr. Sven Alkalaj will meet for the second Trilateral Consultation Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey-Bosnia-Herzegovina-Croatia. Within the framework of the Trilateral Meeting, first of which was held in Zagreb on 14 January 2010, the Ministers will eloborate on various regional issues, especially Bosnia-Herzegovina and possibilities of cooperation.

Turkey, also holding presently the Chairmanship of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), believes in the importance of high level direct contacts between the Balkan countries for lasting peace and stability in the region. Therefore, in addition to the Trilateral Consultation Mechanism of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey-Bosnia-Herzegovina-Serbia and the Trilateral Balkan Summit held on 24 April in İstanbul with the participation of the Presidents and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of these countries, the Trilateral Consultation Mechanism of Ministers of Foreign Affairs that is functioning with Croatia is of great importance for stability, prosperity and European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the region.
